Want to age beautifully, and live longer and healthier?

This is a good book that guides you to ubderstand a basic ideas of what Sirtfood is. It also gives a good diet menus. I highly recommend someone who wants to live longer and healthier, and you will be beautiful inside and outside by Sirtfood. Since I did try Sirtfood in everyday meal, I never get hungry. Sirtfood suppresses my appetite even I eat normal amount!!!

About the Author
Raymond G. Miltenberger received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1985 from Western Michigan University. He is currently a professor and director of the Applied Behavior Analysis Program at the University of South Florida. Dr. Miltenberger conducts applied behavior analysis research with his students and publishes widely in the areas of sports and fitness, functional assessment and treatment of behavioral disorders, and self-protection skills training. He utilizes behavior modification in clinical work with children and individuals with intellectual disability.

I was actually able to sit down and READ this book page for page, which is unusual for me. This is just a really interesting field of study and the things you can learn from this book are very relevant to day-to-day life and relationships especially.

The author, Raymond Miltenberger, of the "Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures" textbook uses outdated vocabulary.

As indicated in his 2015 edition of the textbook, behavior analyst Raymond Milltenburger, Ph.D. still never read this study published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis that James Carr and Jennifer Austin wrote about his textbook back in 1998. But using outdated vocabulary is still a hit among college textbooks on Amazon! :)

Carr and Austin (1998) in the Journal of ABA accurately state:

"Finally, it is unfortunate that Miltenberger chose to use the term Behavior Modification as opposed to Applied Behavior Analysis. He states that the terms are synonymous in that they share common goals (i.e., the analysis and modification of behavior). However, Mace (1994) has proposed distinctions in the terms, in that Behavior Modification implies that the primary goal is behavior change and Applied Behavior Analysis emphasizes a complete understanding of behavior prior to change. Clearly, Miltenberger’s text stresses the importance of analyzing the function of behavior before change. Perhaps this point would have been more consistently conveyed if he had used more accepted terminology to describe the field."

Since then, Mace's (1994) proposition has been confirmed by Mace & Critchfield (2010) in the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior as well as other authors in the Journal of ABA, i.e., see Walsh (1997) and Pelios, Morren, Tesch, & Axelrod (1999).

As pointed out by Mace & Critchfield (2010) in the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Behavior Modification refers to the brief revival of Methodological Behaviorism in the late 1950s and again from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Specifically, the authors describe a disconnect between "the basic and applied sectors of Behavior Analysis" in that the reinforcers were presumed to change behavior during this time before Radical Behaviorism (the philosophy behind Behavior Analysis) unexpectedly returned in the late 1980s, as more research started to evolve on functional analysis methodologies since then.

Miltenberger writes in a manner that is easy to follow and simply explains even some of the more difficult ABA concepts. I have a feeling that I will definitely be getting my monies worth!

About the Author

Michael Schaller is the Regents Professor of History at the University of Arizona. He has published numerous books about 20th-century American political history and foreign policy, including The Republican Ascendancy and Right Turn: American Life in the Reagan-Bush Era.

I enjoyed reading Michael Schaller's "Ronald Reagan"since it helps show how public perception can sometimes be different from reality. While I do not agree with all of Schaller's points, I think he highlights many of the Gipper's flaws and shows how the man could simply overlook obstacles. The GOP certainly was looking for a hero after the Nixon/Agnew fiasco so the tendency by many to embellish Reagan's accomplishments is often overdone. Reagan benefited from a dramatic wave of technology (PCs/microchips/software), lower interest rates (thank you Volker), and a break in oil prices. He did facilitate many positive changes (National Science Foundation funding) and didn't wage a major war to show he was tough. The book made me think of both the good and bad things that happened during Reagan's tenure and perhaps realize that this president did not change government very much. It's a good offset to some of the blindly adulatory books on the man (and I was/am a Reagan supporter).

Great biography of President Regan -- not too long and yet covers all the pertinent facts of his life in an unbiased way. I bought this to read to my elderly friend who an no longer read herself and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

About the Author
Randall Billingsley is a finance professor at Virginia Tech and an award-winning teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His research, consulting, and teaching focus on equity valuation, risk management and derivatives-based strategies, and regulatory finance. In 2006, he published a financial analysis book with the Wharton School. In addition, his research has been published in many professional journals, including the JOURNAL OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF BANKING AND FINANCE, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, and JOURNAL OF FUTURES MARKETS. As a consultant, Dr. Billingsley has served as an expert witness on equity valuation, capital of cost estimation, and economic damages analysis. His consulting clients include BellSouth Telecommunications, the United States Telecom Association, LECG, UBS, and others. A CFA charter holder, Dr. Billingsley has taught CFA examination review courses at multiple levels throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Lawrence J. Gitman is an emeritus professor of finance at San Diego State University. He received his BA from Purdue University, MBA from the University of Dayton, and PhD from the University of Cincinnati. A prolific author, Dr. Gitman has published more than 50 articles appearing in FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, the FINANCIAL REVIEW, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL PLANNING, JOURNAL OF RISK AND INSURANCE, FINANCIAL SERVICES REVIEW, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, FINANCIAL PRACTICE AND EDUCATION, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION, and other scholarly publications. He has authored and coauthored numerous best-selling textbooks on various finance and business topics as well as investing. An active member of numerous professional organizations, Dr. Gitman is past president of the Academy of Financial Services, the San Diego Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute, the Midwest Finance Association, and the FMA National Honor Society. In addition, he is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Dr. Gitman formerly served as a director on the CFP Board of Governors, as vice president of Financial Education for the Financial Management Association, and as director of the San Diego MIT Enterprise Forum. He has two grown children and lives with his wife in La Jolla, California, where he is an avid cyclist.

Michael D. Joehnk is an emeritus professor of finance at Arizona State University. In addition to his academic appointments at ASU, Dr. Joehnk spent a year as a visiting professor of finance at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He received his BA and PhD degrees from the University of Arizona and his MBA from Arizona State University. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he served as a member of the Candidate Curriculum Committee and of the Council of Examiners of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts. He also served as a director of the Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts and as secretary-treasurer of the Western Finance Association and was elected to two terms as vice president of the Financial Management Association. Dr. Joehnk has authored or co-authored more than 50 articles, five popular books, and numerous monographs. In addition to co-authoring several books with Dr. Gitman, Dr. Joehnk wrote the highly successful paperback tradebook INVESTING FOR SAFETY'S SAKE. He also has served as editor and contributed to several other prominent books. His articles have appeared in FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF FINANCE, JOURNAL OF BANK RESEARCH, JOURNAL OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS, AAII JOURNAL, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, BELL JOURNAL OF ECONOMICS, DAILY BOND BUYER, FINANCIAL PLANNER, and other publications. Great advice for any professional!

I enjoyed reading Dr. Cobb's practical advice to all health care professionals. If you do not know how to listen or take time to get to know your client, patient, student, then you are working for yourself and not them. Every one in any profession needs to be educated in the most current methods of the profession, not only for the sake of the client, but also for their own ability to be the best at their own job. Although I am not a trainer, I am a teacher and not a day goes by that I do not recognize that I cannot reach my students if they are not engaged. Sometimes the day's lesson has to be set aside so that I can find out what is happening in a student's life that is keeping him/her from being able to learn, whether that be the teenager's baby that kept her up all night or the teen whose parents are going through a divorce. All of the seven pieces of advice that Dr. Cobb offers here can be applied to any person who works with people whether it be teacher, lawyer, doctor or trainer! I appreciated that the article was short and to the point. The rest is up to the reader!

Great book and awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing your story and more importantly thanks for sharing about your weaknesses and struggles with sins. It's encouraging that a "super Christian" (as people who have seen the miraculous and have suffered for Christ appear to be) deals with the same issues we all deal with in the midst of such a wonderful testimony. You are an inspiration.

About the Author
Carrie N. Baker is an Assistant Professor in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Smith College in Mount Berry, Georgia. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Yale University and a J.D. and Ph.D. in Women's Studies from Emory University. Her primary areas of research are women's legal history, gender and public policy, and women's social movements. The Women's Movement against Sexual Harassment (2008) won the National Women's Studies Association Sara A. Whaley Book Prize.

Great for agenda-setting discussion and introducing women's movement to students

I have used this book several times in class as a case study in agenda-setting. It's a great way to discuss the role of interest groups and social movements in the beginning of the policy process. It is also a good way to introduce students to the women's movement and discuss important issues of sexual harassment that students have or will have to deal with. It stops at Anita Hill, so some updating of the material is necessary, but my classes have had very interesting discussions about appropriate workplace behavior, patriarchy, and power differentials. The author does not hate men. That's a silly review. The author impeccably and thoroughly describes the movement. Readers can interpret on their own.
